Why can one park have several source IDs?
A park can contain several mapped parcels. Parcels with the same recorded name and location share a section. Every original source ID is retained, so repeated land records are not silently dropped.
Do the map points show park entrances?
No. The coordinates are calculated from the mapped land boundaries and show an approximate land centre. Use the recorded address where available, and confirm the entrance before travelling.
Does a mapped park have confirmed washrooms and parking?
Not necessarily. This land inventory does not verify visitor facilities, accessible entrances or current washroom opening. A missing fact means it has not been verified, rather than that the facility does not exist.
Which parks have designated picnic and barbecue areas?
The city names LaSalle Park, Lowville Park and Hidden Valley Park. These sites have picnic amenities and hot-ash disposal bins.

Do I need a picnic reservation?
The city asks visitors to book LaSalle and Hidden Valley picnic sites in advance. Lowville picnic spaces are first come, first served. Larger events may need extra permits.

Can I put a barbecue on a picnic table?
No. Use a small portable barbecue with legs or a heat-resistant stand on a stable non-flammable surface. Keep it away from grass, vegetation, people and paths.

Where do charcoal and hot ashes go?
Only in a designated hot-ash bin. Do not put coals in ordinary garbage bins or dump them on the ground. Open fires are prohibited.
