Request the right exemption

Use the city's parking self-service portal for driveway repairs, visitors or another short-term need. The exemption applies to a plated vehicle, including a motorcycle, RV or trailer. A trailer must remain attached to a vehicle.

Register before relying on it. A later exemption does not cancel a ticket already issued. The two waived offences are exceeding five hours and parking between 1 and 6 a.m. No-parking signs, fire routes and other restrictions still apply.

Snow and paid spaces

An exemption is not valid during snow clearing or road maintenance and does not work on pay streets. Arrange another legal parking place when operations require the street to be clear.

Beachway has a separate program for Halton households. It covers up to 10 weekend parking days from May to September for one plate per household, during paid hours 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. It waives the charge, not the need for a legal available space. Do not use street exemption days for Beachway.
