Enterprise Systems & Analytics Consultant
Employment Type: Contract (ongoing, with potential to convert to permanent)
Location: Oakville, ON (Hybrid, 2 to 3 days on-site)
Rate: $75/hr
Industry: Manufacturing (Advanced Materials)
Position Type: New Role
About the Opportunity
Our client is a growing, private equity-backed advanced materials manufacturer in Oakville, producing specialty materials for the semiconductor, aerospace and energy storage supply chains. Over the past year, they have replaced spreadsheet-driven processes with a modern data stack: Odoo as the ERP and system of record, Snowflake as the data warehouse, Power BI for reporting, and an AI agent platform that sits on top of validated data.
That model is already live in the quality and lab function, where complex lab and production data was migrated into Odoo, validated through Snowflake and turned into automated reporting. The next phase extends the same approach across the business, starting with finance and operations, inside a newly formed Enterprise Systems and Analytics function.
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will connect the systems, the external integration partners and the business users. You will take a department’s processes from first interview to automated, validated reporting, and build the reports yourself along the way. This is a strong fit for a hands-on data and systems consultant who wants a real sandbox: a lean organization, a clean architecture already in place, executive sponsorship, and room to shape how a manufacturer uses data and AI.
Key Responsibilities
Data Platform and Integration
- Own the end-to-end flow of data from Odoo, plant equipment (PLCs) and other sources into Snowflake
- Monitor and troubleshoot daily loads and pipelines; investigate and resolve discrepancies between source systems and the warehouse
- Coordinate the Snowflake integration partner and the Odoo implementation partner, translating business requirements into designs and testing what they deliver
- Learn the existing architecture quickly from partner documentation and become the internal point of knowledge for how the pieces fit together
Business Process and Reporting
- Sit with department leaders to map their processes and data, then systemize that data in Odoo so it can flow into Snowflake
- Build Power BI reports and Odoo dashboards that reconcile to source, including interim solutions for Excel-based workflows while the fully integrated version is built
- Lead system initiatives through requirements, design, build, testing and user acceptance, and drive adoption with end users
- Connect new systems and Odoo apps, such as maintenance, into Snowflake
AI and Automation
- Structure validated Snowflake data so AI agents can use it accurately and cost-effectively
- Identify and deliver automation opportunities that reduce manual effort across functions
- Present findings and outputs to executive and functional stakeholders
What You Bring
- Hands-on experience owning a cloud data warehouse, ideally Snowflake, including pipelines, data models, validation and failure recovery
- Strong SQL and Power BI skills (Power Query, DAX, semantic modelling)
- Experience extracting and modelling data from a mid-market ERP such as Odoo, NetSuite, Dynamics or SAP Business One
- Proven track record taking a business process from discovery to automated, validated reporting
- Experience managing external integration or implementation partners
- Comfortable working at both levels: designing how data should flow, and building the spreadsheet or report yourself
- Clear communicator with finance, operations and technical audiences
- Available to work on-site in Oakville 2 to 3 days per week
Nice to Have
- Manufacturing, lab, quality or shop-floor (PLC) data experience
- Direct Odoo experience
- Experience building AI agents or automated workflows on top of a data warehouse
- dbt, Python or Git
- Interest in converting to a permanent role
