Outside Sales Representative (Remote with Travel)
Location: Hamilton - Niagara Territory
OTE: $60k -$120k | Base: $60K–$70K | Uncapped Commission
Do you love the moment a handshake turns into a signed deal?
If you’re a confident closer who enjoys being out meeting people, owning your own territory, and getting paid for the results you drive, we’d like to talk to you. You don’t need experience selling waste or recycling services. We’ll teach you the industry. What we can’t teach is the drive to build a pipeline, the skill to read a customer’s needs, and the persistence to close.
About Waste Solutions Canada
We’re one of Canada’s largest independent waste and recycling management companies, and a leader in smart waste technology from coast to coast. We’ve been named to the Globe and Mail’s list of Canada’s Fastest Growing Companies six years in a row, we’ve been Great Place to Work® certified for five consecutive years, and in 2025 we were recognized as one of the Best Workplaces for Mental Wellness and Inclusion in Canada.
The Role
You’ll join our Sales team and own the Hamilton - Niagara territory, turning qualified and self-sourced opportunities into signed waste and recycling agreements. You’ll manage the full sales cycle, from first meeting to close, working with our Business Development Representatives on the front end and handing new clients to Account Management once they sign. Success means hitting your quota, building a healthy pipeline, and bringing in profitable, long-term clients.

- Meet prospective customers in person and virtually, and visit their sites to understand their waste and recycling needs
- Qualify opportunities and gather the information needed for accurate pricing and proposals

- Work closely with Business Development Representatives, giving timely feedback on the leads they pass to you
- Build your own pipeline through prospecting, referrals, local networking, and in-person outreach
- Keep CRM records up to date so forecasts are accurate
- Hand off new clients to Account Management for a smooth start to service

- Ask good questions and listen before you pitch
- Bounce back quickly from a “no” and keep going
- Manage your own time and territory without needing close supervision
- Are motivated by targets and the earning potential that comes with beating them

- 2+ years of B2B outside or field sales experience, with responsibility for closing deals and hitting revenue targets
- A valid driver’s licence, a reliable vehicle, and the ability to travel regularly within the territory
- Comfort using a CRM to manage your pipeline and follow-ups
Nice to Have (but not required)
- Experience in waste, recycling, environmental services, facilities, property management, or recurring-service sales
- Experience with CRM
